For over 50 years, Stebbins High School CTC has been helping students find their place in the ever-changing workforce.

Darel J. Coterel, Engineering Class of 1986

"I was in the Engineering Design program. The program provided a great avenue into design engineering at manufacturing and R&D companies.  Locally, I worked with companies like Systems Research Laboratories (SRL) founded by Fritz Russ whose name is on the Engineering Building at Wright State University.  Others included SACO Corporation (Kettering), Computer Aided Design & Information Systems (Vandalia), Chrysler Technologies Airborne Systems (Fairborn), Robbins & Myers or Moyno Inc. (Springfield).

Including Ohio, I have been employed and lived in five (5) states in engineering & technology leadership roles with companies like Bush Hog, LLC. (Alabama), BAE Systems (Texas), Club Car (Georgia), Mueller Water Products (Tennessee) and now Schenck Process Group which is a US remote role with HQ out od Darmstadt, Germany and US HQ in Kansas City, Missouri."

Between all that, I went to school at least part-time and received the following degrees:

A.A.S in Mechanical Engineering Technology - Sinclair Community College

B.S. in Engineering Technology - University of Dayton

MBA focus Management Information Sciences - Franklin University (Columbus, OH)

My career foundation was honed in the halls and classrooms at Walter E. Stebbins.  My career continues to be focused on engineering and manufacturing systems (information technology) with a specialization in new product development (NPD) and product lifecycle management (PLM).

Kameron Marshall, Accounting & Finance Class of 2016

Stebbins CTC really helped me to achieve the success that I have been fortunate to achieve thus far in my life. Stebbins CTC, specifically the Accounting and Finance Program, helped me realize my passion in life and what I wanted to pursue my career in. Additionally, Stebbins CTC gave me a like-minded community and family, outside of the entire Stebbins High School family. Furthermore, the Accounting and Finance program gave me lifelong friends, and memories that I will always cherish. Being in the Accounting and Finance Program gave me an advantage over my competition and peers when applying for college, and during college when applying for internships. Additionally, Mr. Stalcup was a great teacher, mentor, and father figure for me, who has continued to support me and push me to achieve excellence. Being able to compete in Business Professionals of America (BPA) in both individual and team events helped give me the fundamentals and professional skills to be successful during high school, college, and my future career. As well as allowing me to develop collaboration skills and building critical thinking skills to help formulate and execute strategies for a deadline. Also, with the help of my classmates and Mr. Stalcup, I was able to do extremely well in my BPA competitions for both my Junior and Senior school years and was able to advance to both the State and National levels for the competitions. This gave me the opportunity to travel to Columbus and California, and I was able to meet a lot of great people around the country that pushed me to be better, and some I still stay connected with. Utilizing my professional skills, interview skills, and leveraging my participation and performance in the Stebbins CTC Program and BPA, I was able to obtain a summer internship with KPMG as a freshman in college, which is very difficult to do. Furthermore, I was able to have three internships with KPMG, one with the Cincinnati Reds in their Accounting and Finance Department, and one with Bank of America in their Financial Management Analyst Program. In conclusion, I am so grateful and thankful for the Stebbins CTC Program, and especially the Accounting and Finance Program, for all that it has given me. Stebbins CTC helped give me the talent, skills, community, and mentors, that helped me achieve a great amount of success at the University of Cincinnati and develop me for my career at KPMG

Malik Thurman, Marketing Class of 2014

Malik Thurman, graduated in 2014 and received a scholarship to play basketball at Edison Community College – He eventually transferred with a full scholarship to Lourdes University to finish out his college basketball career. In that time he was building a freelance business in everything digital from photoshop, video editing, to paid ads. He received his Bachelors in Marketing in 2018 and held many roles in the marketing industry. Currently he works for FC Cincinnati as a Digital Marketing Manager

"Stebbins played a huge part in where I am today, from the wide range of people, smart teachers, and a very supportive system like the career tech program. My career tech was business management with Mrs. Witt who always challenged us, and taught us so many things outside of your regular school tasks that I still hold with me today. I even still remember competing in Business Professionals Of America and being around a bunch of students that truly challenged me to want to get better".
