Academic & Life Readiness (CBI)

Academic and Life Skills Readiness is a Career Based Intervention (CBI) program model and curriculum that teaches students transferable skills focused on career training and life skills to prepare students to meet the needs and expectations of local business and industry. The program provides students the opportunity to create positive academic habits and develop life skills which will enable students to prosper in the workforce by learning resiliency and coping skills, positive communication and active listening skills, conflict resolution, people and leadership skills, decision making and impulse control skills, in addition to the traditional CBI curriculum of researching careers, application and interviewing skills, money management, and goal setting. The program empowers students to be prepared for life and a career post-graduation by providing vital experiences and competencies for a successful transition into the workforce.
